The First Fruits offering is a faith offering. It comes from the first of what is harvested for the year. None of the harvest is consumed until the First Fruits offering has been made. When we make this offering, we are presenting and demonstrating our trust and faith that YaHoVaH will sustain us and provide for us in the year to come.
It’s the perfect time to think about what comes first.
On the first day, the Creator said, “Let there be light.”
Light was first.
When Yeshua was asked which commandment was the greatest, he replied, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”
Love is first.
In Revelation, Yeshua says that he is the first and the last. He demonstrates this during the intermediate fulfillment of the First Fruits when he is raised from the dead and raises those whose graves were marked to be his First Fruits offering to the Father.
Yeshua is first.
When I think about my life, I want light and love and Yeshua to be first. I want to be the light that shines the love of our salvation to the world.
This season, let us think about what comes first. When you wake up, what is the first thing you do? What is the first thing you say to your family members? Where does your first dollar go? Do the answers line up with what you really want to make first?
The purpose of the First Fruits offering is to give whole-heartedly and with faith, and to do it first. There is no Temple to which we can bring our offering at this time, but we can still give whole-heartedly and with faith to show what we want to be first in our lives and in the world.
This season, find a way to give that shows the Almighty what is first in your heart. And if you feel like this ministry represents what comes first to you, then we welcome your First Fruits offering. We will wave it wholeheartedly and with faith for you in the work we do all over the world – shining the light of Yeshua’s love.
