My daughter/husband/grandchildren moved in with us at the beginning of July. Good thing we have a large house. Their oldest, daughter will be 14 in November. She’s a good, quiet kid.
Even at their previous house, she used TikTok on her cell phone. Since moving into our house she has been having “experiences” in her bedroom but that night was the kicker. She has heard voices. A stack of quarters and two dollar bills were placed on her dresser. Suddenly the stack of quarters was pushed over and the two dollar bills moved away from each other. She attributed this to her ceiling fan.
Late last night something happened that shook her to the bone. She was brushing her teeth when she heard voices. She thought it was from our family room as her mother usually watches tv at that time, but the voices didn’t sound quite right for tv. Just as she returns to her bedroom she hears an older man’s voice say loudly, “What do you want!” This rattled her completely. She coiled on top of her bed and began crying loud enough for her parents (who are quite heavy sleepers) to wake up. I saw her, she was practically inconsolable.
Now, she likes scary movies. They have never bothered her in the past. She knows good and evil, knows there is real Good and real Evil. She also knows what she sees in movies is all a façade.
The history of that bedroom is, that the house was built in 2006. My brother was almost 71 when he died in that room 7 years ago tomorrow. We do not believe in ghosts but we do believe in spiritual conduits. TikTok is a conduit, tv is a conduit, music is a conduit, and friendships/acquaintances can be a conduit.
She has been asking to be baptized for a while now. My wife and I will be sitting her down to explain baptism and the commitment it establishes. If we see that she is truly ready, we will baptize her tomorrow when her dad can be home, too. The pool is ready.
We will appreciate the prayers of others.
