When is Passover?

Passover this year is expected to be sundown, April 11 to sundown, April 12, 2017.

Is Passover the Last Supper?

NO!  Yeshua will literally fulfill all of the prophetic shadow pictures embedded in the Passover.  The rehearsal in the Temple was just a shadow of the fulfillment that was about to occur in the Kingdom of YaHoVaH as the Lamb of YaHoVaH was about to be the substitution for the sins of the nation of Israel and the transgressions of the entire world.

JOHN 13:1 “Now before the Feast of the Passover…” CKJV.  In this passage, John clearly states “before” the Passover.  This means that the last supper was just a meal they had together before Passover.

Wait, the Feast of Unleavened Bread isn’t Passover?

No, Passover is only one day – a 24 hour period.  The Feast of Unleavened Bread celebrates the journey of the children of Israel through the wilderness during the Exodus.

Exodus 12:15-20

‘Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses; for whoever eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. On the first day you shall have a holy assembly, and another holy assembly on the seventh day; no work at all shall be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person, that alone may be prepared by you. You shall also observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt; therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations forever.

Believers remove the “leavening” or yeast from their homes prior to the Feast of Unleavened Bread and do not eat leaven for those 7 days.  But we do have Matzo or “unleavened bread” during those 7 days. Matzo is yeastless bread that reminds us of our haste to make our way to the promised land of YaHoVaH.

We also keep the first day and the last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread as High Sabbaths during which no work is done and we assemble together as a body.

Do we have to keep these Feasts now that Yeshua has died for our sins?

The Scripture is very clear:

Exodus: 12:20; “Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.”
