“Acts” starts the very first day after the Messiah’s 70-week ministry had concluded, when the outpouring of the Holy Spirit took place. The apostles received this gift of the Holy Spirit, as was promised by Yeshua immediately prior to his ascension:
“But, I am telling you that you shall receive power after the Ruach Kodesh comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses for me in Yerushalayim, in all Yehuda and Shomron, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
~ Acts 1:8
This assignment was not meant only for 12 apostles.
They were meant also for you and me – for anyone called by the Almighty. Shimon Kefa explains this to the multitude at Shavuot, saying:
“Repent, and be mikveh-ed every one of you in the name of Yeshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the Gift of the Ruach Kodesh. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YHVH our Elohim shall call.”
~ Acts 2:38-39
The book of the Acts details the actions of those who are called by the Almighty and who act as witnesses for him to the uttermost parts of the earth. The book of the Acts is still being written today in Heaven! You are called not just to believe, but to act. What does your chapter of the book of the Acts say?
