The First Judges

Before we entered the Promised Land – even before we heard the commandments shouted down from Mount Sinai – yes, even before we made it to the mountain – during our seven-week journey out of Egypt on our way through the desert of Midian, Israel was assigned their first judges. The selection process was designed to minimize abuse. But having elected men, abuse was almost guaranteed because Israel’s judges would, by default, be a reflection of the hearts and obedience of the nation – just as our judges in America today reflect the degradation of American society.

In the end, we will comprehend why the book of the Judges is a prophetic shadow picture of the body of Messiah during the time between Yeshua’s ascension and his return at the last trump.
